| These blackout
shades are made using a 12 oz. 4 ply blackout material (3
ply's of Plasticized PVC and 1 ply of 100% Fiberglass) that
rolls up inside of a stylish aluminum housing when not in
use. We use a stainless steel spring for smooth operation,
and to prevent corrosion. The housing and tracks are made
of an extruded aluminum that is powder-coated for a durable
finish. All this assures product durability for many years
of trouble free operation.
The housing & tracks mount inside of the window frame;
the material runs down from the housing through the tracks
on each side, these tracks encase the blackout material between
a double row of brushes providing a complete seal. There's
also a brush on the bottom edge of the material pull bar that
seals against the windowsill when the shade is pulled down,
so there is no track running across your windowsill. All this
provides a complete seal all the way around that will keep
all exterior light out, and will also provide a very effective
barrier against heat loss through your windows.
